New Hot Picks Collection
You may be wondering, what are Hot Picks? Here at Portage District Library, Hot Picks will be a new collection of movies, music, and games that are either new or in demand. There will also be a selection of Hot Pick books in the Atrium that will replace our rental collection, and will be in addition to the copies we regularly purchase and allow to be put on reserve.
As established in library policy, Hot Picks will be limited to use by resident and paying non-resident members. Further, each membership account will be limited to taking two items from each category at one time. Also, Hot Pick items cannot be renewed or reserved, so that we can have greater and more immediate availability of the things most users want to borrow.
The Hot Pick loan periods and fines are as follows:
Category Loan Period Overdue Charge/Max.
Book 14 days $1.00 per day/$10.00
Movie 7 days $1.00 per day/$10.00
Music 7 days $1.00 per day/$10.00
Game 7 days $1.00 per day/$10.00
Reserves for those users who are currently waiting for titles of movies, music, or games that are being incorporated into Hot Picks will lose their reservation. Cancellation notices will be sent to those who utilize email notification.
