This year’s assignment: People Who Have Made a Positive Contribution.
- What was the contribution this person made?
- What personal qualities, life experiences or professional preparation contributed to this person’s success?
- What sacrifices did this person make-or what benefits did this person receive?
- How did this person’s contribution benefit the world? What influence did this person have on others?
Step 1: Search the library catalog for a book on your topic. CLICK HERE TO SEARCH THE CATALOG
(Hint: Enter your person’s name in the “Subject” box. If you don’t get what you want, try entering the name in the “General” box.)
(Hint: All biographies in the library have a call number of 92 and then the last name of the person. Collective biographies (several people are included in one book or series) have a call number of 920.
Step 2: Search the catalog for other materials that may contain information about your person. For example, if your subject is Nelson Mandela, search for books on South Africa or Apartheid.
